Jun (Probiotic Honey Drink)
“Jun” or “Xun” is an effervescent fermented health tonic roughly similar to kombucha but feeding on green tea and raw honey rather than black tea and concentrated sugar.
I have always enjoyed drinking kombucha, ever since I encountered it during college. It was a fantastic alternative for coffee and I always felt my digestion was better with the intake of probiotics. When I was introduced to Jun last summer, I was more than excited to try the green tea and honey version of my favorite tonic. I moved to Hawaii about a year ago and found that I was able to support my community by purchasing from local growers. I started brewing my own Jun and used Hawaiian Rainbow Bees Rainbow Blossom Raw Honey, which ended up producing an amazing drink that I can enjoy for breakfast, or an afternoon pick me up. My body feels a lot better after drinking Jun because honey is full of amazing nutrients and green tea is also so good for you.

Mead (Honey Wine)
Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops.
I have won a national gold medal with one of my meads as well as participated quite a few shows and competitions winning several other regional medals with other meads. Making mead is a bit of science and a bit of an art. I need to consider temperatures, times, and quantities. But I often change up my ingredients and add unique flavor profiles in each batch. I recently started using Hawaiian Rainbow Bees honey to make some dry mead and continue to enter my mead in national mead competitions. Some of my meads I enjoy chilled and some are delicious at room temperature.

Lip Balm & Soaps
“Lip balm” or “lip salve” is a wax-like substance applied topically to the lips of the mouth to moisturize, prevent moisture loss and relieve chapped or dry lips. Often made with natural wax.
Natural Soap made by using natural ingredients Sometimes made with our bees wax and with Hawaiian Rainbow Bees honey.
Hiromi S is from Shizuoka, Japan. She has been making her own soaps for some time and just recently started creating an artisanal lip balm. With her lip balm, she created a lightly scented and protective salve using lemon based aroma oil and our bee’s wax. For her natural soaps, she used both our honey and our wax to create soaps with varying colors and consistencies.
